My name is Katrina L. Finley.
I am seeking a seat on the Soil and Water Conservation Board in Jacksonville, Florida, because I believe that conservationism is a duty for all Floridians. Jacksonville’s rural landscape has become more urban. Our continued growth has had an effect on our natural resources, but our need for those resources has not decreased. I, therefore, believe that the future use and protection of our vital resources must be thoughtfully maintained. Additionally, education opportunities must be made available to increase local interest in conservation and agriculture. I also believe in the need to foster relationships within citizenry, government, and the local business sector to create innovative solutions to the problems we face. I am NOT a career politician. I am a concerned Floridian, seeking a place on the Board, who is willing to work to help protect and preserve our community.
